Canara Bank Timings Due to COVID-19 Outbreak
The COVID-19 outbreak has led to a huge dis-functionality in all the world’s systems. The banking system has been the worst impacted as well. But Banks being the backbone of our economy cannot be shut down completely. The Indian Bank Association has therefore issued certain guidelines to help in the risk-free and smooth running of banks. These include the alteration of bank timings as well.
The branch timings of Canara Bank haven’t changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But according to Indian Bank Associations guidelines the banks are supposed to work at a maximum staff capacity of 15%.
The services offered by banks during these times are limited to essential services only.

Canara Bank Working Hours
Canara Bank’s branch timings are the same throughout the country. During the normal scenario, the bank is open from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM every Monday to Friday.
On the 1st, 3rd & 5th Saturdays of the month the branch Timings are 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The bank is closed on the 2nd Saturday, 4th Saturday, Sundays, and on the other national holiday of the month.
Lunch Timings of Canara Bank
The employees of Canara Bank go to lunch on a rotational basis. So there won’t be any time when all the employees are out on break at once.
Generally, lunch timings are between 1 PM to 2 PM.

NEFT Transfer Timings
During Normal scenarios, the NEFT transfer can be made from Canara Bank during the working days between 8:00 AM to 6:45 PM.
The working days are Monday to Friday every week and 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday of every month. On the 2nd, 4th Saturdays, Sundays, and on other national holidays the NEFT transfer services cannot be availed.
RTGS Transfer Timings
During Normal scenarios, the RTGS transfer can be made from Canara Bank during the working days between 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
The working days in Canara Bank are from Monday to Friday every week and the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday of every month.
The 2nd and 4th Saturday, Sundays and other days as declared by the government are national holidays when the RTGS transfer services cannot be availed.
- NEFT/RTGS transactions made after the working hours will be settled on the next NEFT/RTGS business days
- Transactions attempted after 4:30 pm will be rejected at RBI on the very same day.
