In the year 2011-12, the bank entered the North-Eastern states of Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. In the year 2019, Finance Minister Nirmala Seetharaman announced that the bank would be merged with Union Bank of India. By March 4, 2020 banks like Andhra Bank and Corporation Bank were merged into Union Bank of India.
