Saurashtra is a major region in the state of Gujarat. Today’s cities and towns like Porbandar, Rajkot, and Bhavnagar fall under the administrative zone of this region. In the pre-independence era, every place had its own Darbar bank. When the entire region was congregated as one under the name Saurashtra, all the banks under that region made their operations parallel to each other. Post-independence, the states were reorganized leading to the culmination of banks under that district as one. By the year 1960, the State Bank of India took over the operations of the State Bank of Saurashtra and made it one of its 7 associate banks. In the year 2008, the bank was merged with the State Bank of India.

The lunch timings of the bank are generally between 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The bank assures a certain strength to remain in the bank premises to serve the clients even during lunch hours.
SBS NEFT Transfer Timings
The NEFT Transfer Timings of the bank were earlier only restricted to a particular time. With the release of the order in August 2019, the NEFT Transfer Timings of the bank were changed to 365x24x7 for online mode. However, for offline NEFT Transfers, the timing is limited to bank working hours.
SBS RTGS Transfer Timings
The RTGS Transfer Timings of the bank for online transactions is 365x24x7. This came into effect in January 2020. The offline mode of transaction is however only limited to certain hours.
